Aww thanks! Well to tell you the truth I just kinda make them up as I go. My right hand I do first with almost every finger a different variation of the design then I pick out my favorite of the 5 and do that on my left. It makes me a little more confident that I can do the design well since it looks moderately nice on my non-dominant hand. Kind-of like a little template before I do the real deal where looking good really counts.

So sorry I have been MIA for a while. Back in October my kitten died. I was so depressed about it I didn’t even get to celebrate my favorite holiday (Halloween). Anyway I’m back after noticing that my subscribers shot way up! Thanks everyone! When I hit 100 followers I will do a small giveaway!

There has been a lot of talk about December 5th on youtube. Robin Moses and ProfessionalDQ put together a collaboration to stop the grumpy people saying “so and so copied so and so’s nail art”, because of coarse you can’t always track down who made up polka dot nails or the first person who invented water marbling. The theme was Let It Snow. I made the youtube video and thought I should make a blog post. If you were involved in this collaboration please make your video a video response to mine. Link below.

Anyway here is the finished product.

First I painted all my nails blue.

Next I made 3 equal sized white lines at the corner of my nail like so.

After that I made 2 little V shapes at the tip of each of the white lines like so.

Then I made short white lines in between the 3 longer lines making sure to stop before the V’s.

Made 3 large dots on each nail with a dotting tool.

Made smaller dots where needed to fill in the empty spaces.

Finished with a blue glitter over the top and a top coat.

2. Alpine Snow by O.P.I.

3. Teenage Dream by O.P.I.

Today I have a design that I loved so much by jihyeleeart at http://jihyeleeart.tumblr.com/that I had to recreate it. It’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s Rainbow Dash’s tail and cutie mark. I thought it was perfect for rainbow day. What do you think of my copycat version?

I’m definitely a pegasistah! I watch this show all the time. My favorite pony would have to be Rarity, all because we are both into fashion. I will definitely be doing more My Little Pony designs later on.

First I painted my nails with a light blue. The light blue I had was too dark so I frankened it by adding a little white.

Second I made an outline in blue of the tail shape and cutie mark like so.

Next I took out my purple and made a little wisp at the top.

Then I made a blue wisp below the purple.

After that I did a green wisp.

A yellow one….

An orange one…. My orange was too sheer so to make it opaque I extended the yellow to where I wanted the orange to go and just painted over it.

And finally the red wisp. But I’m not done yet…

I filled in the cloud with white.

Made a yellow lightning bolt next to the blue one.

And a red lightning bolt next to the yellow one.

Finally finished with the cloud accent in blue, top coated, and finished!

Oh boy that was tedious. But it’s over. Major props to jihyeleeart for this design. She hand paints tons to sell on Etsy.com. My gosh! I don’t know how she does it!

Tomorrow is gradient! This should be easy….

I really enjoyed this design. I created it myself. I have literally have never heard of anyone else do a film reel style nail art design. And to go even further I have never heard of anyone try an “old style countdown before a movie starts” design either! I really out did myself here.

This design represents me because my boyfriend Dane is into making youtube videos for his channel. Check him out on youtube.com/randumbprod. They are sketch comedy type videos so if you are due for a little laugh then this is the channel to watch. He also wants to become a cinematographer and that actually inspired me to want to be a costume designer someday. So all in all, videos, film, and youtube is a big part of my life.

Any decision you make please keep your arms and legs inside at all times and enjoy the tutorial.

First I painted my nails with a holographic silver paint. (The holographic part is not necessary).

Next I made 2 horizontal thin black likes at the top of my nail and 2 horizontal thin black likes at the bottom of my nail.

Then I made vertical even thin black lines inside the horizontal lines, making sure to keep the middle clear of black paint like so.

After that I made a thick horizontal line in the middle and made the edges a bit less harsh by curving the sides in like so.

To start on my thumb, I made a cross in the middle of my nail making sure to bring the edges of the cross to the edge of my nail.

Next I made a white line to the corner of my nail and filled it in. I don’t think it matters what corner you pick.

After that I made 2 white circles around the center of my nail, like so.

Then I painted an 8 in black in the center, top coated, and done. You may do whatever number you want. I just did an 8 because its day 8 of the nail challenge.

Although it was a lot of work, I still really enjoyed this creation. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
